David is an independent consultant specialising in life insurance. He is an active member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa, where he sits on the Professional Matters Board. He is involved in developing and providing technical and professional training to trainee actuaries.

David was previously a director/partner at Deloitte, where he was the statutory actuary of several life insurance companies, a key adviser to several insurance companies, and was involved in developing the current South African insurance legislation.
